BETTER ISN’T A BRAG — IT’S AN INSTRUCTION

Teach It Better is a free archive and 30-day challenge for grades 6–12. It was built by a working dean and teachers who wanted PD that sounds like the hallway, not a textbook.

The Mission Behind the Moves

Teach It Better was created by a K–12 Dean of Students and a small team of teachers who were tired of binders that never left the shelf. We wanted something practical, warm, and a little bit zine-like—written in the same voice we use in the hallway.

Our promise: examples are anonymous and classroom-safe; we don’t reproduce copyrighted curricula; and CPI® and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® are registered programs of the Crisis Prevention Institute, with certification only through them.

Every move here is meant to be used, adapted, and improved by real educators. If you make it better, share it.

Want to share how your own creative work connects to your classroom or role? You can send a short reflection, script, or clip—creative projects welcome.

Teach It Better is led by Justin Hoy, a Dean of Students who spends his days in real hallways with real kids. The scripts and frameworks here come from that work—tested, tweaked, and shared back out.
